Some Other Thoughts on ‘Midlife Moms’

Share

Re “Things the Stork Never Bothers to Tell Midlife Moms” (“First Person,” Oct. 26): Lynne Norris seems to be doing a lot of moaning and complaining over her plight as an older mother. I am sure she is very proud of her delightful daughter, but, unfortunately, it does not come across in her article.

I was 40 years old and my husband was 42 when we had our last baby. I wouldn’t have missed this son for the world.

Now 26, he is intelligent, handsome, warm and loving. To be blessed with a young son or daughter when you are a “senior citizen” keeps a person alive and striving and still fully participating in life.

I bet any one of Norris’ friends who retired early would gladly trade places with her.
