Biopool Earns Profit After Year-Ago Loss

Biopool International Inc., a Ventura marketer of medical test kits sold to hospitals and laboratories, posted a third-quarter profit of $145,169 compared with a year-earlier loss of $101,444.

The profit in the quarter ended Sept. 30 came as Biopool’s sales more than doubled, to $1.26 million from $549,759 a year earlier. The company said the gains reflected wider distribution of its equipment and new-product introductions.

For the first nine months of 1992, Biopool earned $438,378 against a loss of $149,182 a year earlier, while its nine-month sales also more than doubled, to $3.91 million from $1.90 million.
