Controversy Over Term Limits
Ultimately, the responsibility for how government operates falls on the electorate. To limit the terms of legislators is to give up this responsibility. On balance, all citizens of voting age should be required to vote, and thus to think and act on the issues and on the suitability of the candidates. This is no more extreme than term limits, especially when consideration is given to how many good legislators would often be forced out of office before good works could be completed, perhaps to be replaced by those who could not or would not follow through. With a mandated electorate, good could be retained; poor or bad removed.
