TAKE YOUR TIME: Travel agent Ronni Ort in Anaheim says the recession is keeping people out of the skies and those who do fly are waiting till the last minute to see if airlines cut fares. But she says the airlines decide how many seats they’ll sell at their cheapest price, and sometimes it’s only four on a jumbo jet. . . . Flexibility counts, too. Tickets bought last week would let you fly to New York today and stay until Nov. 27 or later for $298 round trip. Take the same journey on Thanksgiving Eve and come back the following Sunday and expect to pay $503, she says.
