Marvin Traud Group to Buy Conran Stores: Conran Stores Inc., which made its name selling affordable, well-designed home furnishings, will be bought by a group led by Bloomingdale’s former chairman and chief executive, Conran’s British owners said. Storehouse of London said it has entered into an agreement for the sale to MTLG Acquisition Corp., headed by Marvin Traub. The price was not disclosed. Traub, 67, stepped down from Bloomingdale’s on Aug., 1991. Conran Stores operates Conran’s Habitat chain of 19 stores located principally on the East Coast. Los Angeles also has three Conran stores.
