From Times staff and wire reports

The former security guard who admitted kidnaping the late Exxon executive Sidney Reso will be sentenced on federal charges of extortion and conspiracy Nov. 30, the U.S. attorney’s office said. Arthur Seale, who has admitted that he and his wife, Irene, kidnaped Reso and then stuffed him in a hot storage locker where he died, has also pleaded guilty to state charges of kidnaping and murder. Seale faces up to 95 years in prison on the federal charges and up to life in prison on the state counts. Reso, the 57-year-old president of Exxon International, was kidnaped from in front of his suburban New Jersey home April 29 and died in captivity five days later. The Seales were arrested June 19 when they tried to pick up an $18.5-million ransom.
