Strapped Britain to Sell Top Brass’ A-Bomb Shelters

LONDON —
Cash-strapped Britain plans to sell off nuclear bunkers built during the Cold War era to save the country’s top brass from atomic annihilation, the Independent newspaper said today.
One official suggested that the estimated 20 bunkers, which cost millions of dollars to build, would make good swimming pools if the roofs were ripped off. No price tag has been put on the Cold War relics.
