Westchester : Scholarship Honors Roach

A local tent, or chapter, of the national Laurel and Hardy fan club has given more than $18,000 to Loyola Marymount University to establish a Laurel and Hardy scholarship in honor of the late Hal Roach.

The group, known as “Another Fine Mess,” will continue to contribute to the scholarship fund in honor of Roach, creator of the comedy duo.

Roach, who died Nov. 2, was a supporter of the Westchester campus’ communications arts program. The fund will provide scholarships for talented and needy students in the program.
