Skateboard Ban

My husband and I are two of the bikers on the oceanfront sidewalk (“Newport Bans Skateboarding on Sidewalk,” Nov. 10). It’s too bad skateboarders get a bad rap from just a few who decide to do tricks on their boards in front of a moving bicycle. Young people sometimes think they are the only ones around and can be reckless. I have actually had to get off my bike when two skateboarders were trying out their skills on the busy sidewalk. It’s too bad, but I, for one, won’t miss them.
