Williams to Play a Doubleheader

Natalie Williams of UCLA will play for both the women’s basketball team and the women’s volleyball team at Pauley Pavilion tonight.

UCLA athletic department officials said it will be the first time a woman has played two varsity sports on the same day for UCLA.

Williams will come off the bench during the first half for the basketball team against the Belgian national team in its exhibition opener beginning at 5 p.m. She will then change into another uniform and start for the volleyball team against USC in its Pacific 10 Conference finale, beginning around 7 p.m.

Williams, a two-time NCAA most valuable player in volleyball, has led the Bruins to a 27-0 record this season. UCLA clinched the Pac-10 championship last week.
