PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Teerlinck Credited for Viking Rush

Share

One of the Rams’ top priorities Sunday will be to slow the Minnesota Viking pass rush.

Minnesota is third in the conference with 35 sacks and leads the NFL in interceptions with 21. The Vikings finished last season with only 33 sacks and 17 interceptions, and Coach Dennis Green says much of the credit should go to defensive line coach John Teerlinck, who was a Ram assistant last season.

The Rams put wide receiver Aaron Cox, who has a hamstring injury, on injured reserve and signed former Kansas City Chief receiver Emile Harry.

Knox has coached almost 300 games in the NFL, but only one ended in a tie. It happened on Sept. 19, 1976, at Bloomington, Minn.. The Rams trailed the Vikings, 10-0, in the fourth quarter and rallied for a 10-10 tie.
