NOT JUST FOR GRANDMAS

I felt just like author Perri Klass (“Glorious Yarn,” Oct. 25), when, upon encountering “Glorious Knits” in a Los Angeles bookstore in 1986, Kaffe Fassett’s words and stunningly photographed garments taught me to see my knitting as an art form, and, yes, “changed my life.”

The challenge of translating the heavy jackets designed for English weather to the Southern California climate and colors soon became a full-time occupation, and I now teach others how to make ordinary knitted garments into magical, life-enhancing experiences for knitter and wearer.
