LONG BEACH : Woman Found Dead Below Bluff Park Is Identified
The body of a 24-year-old woman who was strangled and dumped below scenic Bluff Park in Long Beach was identified Monday as Sonia Sanchez of Huntington Park.
Shortly after the body was left Sunday morning on the beach, below Bluff Park on Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach police arrested Juan Chavez, 24, on suspicion of murder.
Police arrested Chavez after a witness reported seeing a man drag a woman’s body from a car in the parking lot by Junipero Avenue. With a description of the car, Signal Hill police stopped Chavez as he was driving on Cherry Avenue and arrested him.
