Recital Called Off: Soprano Lucia Popp, on tour in Japan this week and scheduled to appear at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena on Sunday afternoon in a joint recital with her husband, tenor Peter Seiffert, has canceled all engagements and flown home to Vienna. A spokesman for the Ambassador Foundation reports that she is suffering from “an extremely painful sciatic nerve condition.” Ticketholders for the canceled Ambassador event may obtain refunds at the Ambassador ticket office in Pasadena.
