Yuletide Fest Success Spurs Plans for ’93

Robust sales and attendance at the second Yuletide Sawdust Festival will mean another winter arts and crafts sale in 1993, organizers say.

Artisans were “happy and found it to be a success, sales-wise,” co-chairman Chris Krach said this week after the 10-day sale. About 20,000 people attended, Krach said.

Organizers of Art-A-Fair, who also held a 10-day winter sale that ended Sunday, could not be reached for comment. The two sales took place on Laguna Canyon Road, where the two-month summer Sawdust and Art-A-Fair festivals are held.

Some 145 artists took part in this Sawdust sale, 45 more than in the ’91 four-day event, which drew 8,600 visitors, Krach said. Next year’s winter sale may be confined to weekends but will be at least 10 days, she added.
