The Chicago Bulls didn’t have Michael Jordan from the start, and they couldn’t stop Reggie Lewis.

With Jordan sidelined because of a sprained left foot, Lewis scored 22 of his 32 points in the second half and led the Boston Celtics to a 101-96 victory over the Bulls Wednesday night at Boston.

“That’s 33 points we’re missing,” Chicago Coach Phil Jackson said. “I told (the Bulls) they may have to get used to this. It may be more than one game.”

Jordan, injured in a loss at New York Saturday night, missed his fourth game in the last seven seasons. The Bulls have lost them all.

Lewis, who also had seven assists and four steals, made eight of nine shots in the third quarter, which Boston closed with an 18-4 surge for a 78-70 lead.

Boston led by at least seven points during the fourth quarter until Chicago got the last five points on Horace Grant’s layup and B.J. Armstrong’s three-pointer.
