Judge Extends TWA’s Deadline for Reorganization: A judge has extended until Jan. 12 a deadline by which Trans World Airlines must file a plan to reorganize and emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Bankruptcy Judge Helen Bailick, approving a request from TWA, said “tremendous progress” had been made toward restructuring the carrier. TWA representatives told Bailick that over the last six weeks the airline has reached agreement on a restructuring plan with its unsecured creditors, major labor unions and majority owner Carl Icahn.
