World Cup qualifying games will be played in Lebanon for the first time since 1974. But soccer’s governing body banned Liberia and Libya as sites of qualifying matches for the 1994 tournament.

The FIFA executive committee rejected Yugoslavia’s request to reconsider the ban preventing the nation from playing in the 1994 World Cup. It also rejected a protest from Napoli of the Italian League and said Diego Maradona could continue playing for Sevilla.
