Home Free: 20th Century Fox’s “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” found its way to No. 1 at the box office again over the weekend with $12.3 million in earnings, according to early industry estimates. A newcomer to the box-office pack, the Disney comedy “The Distinguished Gentleman” starring Eddie Murphy, earned about $11.5 million as it battled for second place with Warner Bros.’ “The Bodyguard.” The weekend after Thanksgiving weekend, which broke box office records this year, is typically a slower one. Disney’s “Aladdin” made it to fourth place with $10.5 million.
