County environmental health workers were called late Monday to clean up a spill of raw sewage discovered in the eastbound lanes of Foothill Boulevard in Ventura, officials said.
Ventura police closed off the major thoroughfare in both directions from Day Road to Victoria Avenue after the spill was reported at 8:55 p.m., said desk officer Rick French. The sewage was centered near the boulevard’s intersection with Skyline Road, he said.
The origin of the spill was unknown.
