Anti-Abortion Rally Disrupted in Poland
A rally against a proposed tough anti-abortion law in Poland turned into a shouting match Wednesday between demonstrators and skinheads who chanted Nazi slogans and threw eggs at the speakers.
“Sieg heil! Child murderers!” shouted the right-wing protesters who said they were defending the Polish Roman Catholic church against leftists. “Out with fascism!” the demonstrators responded.
The demonstration was aimed at a bill due before Parliament next week proposing prison sentences of up to two years for people who perform abortions.
