Salomon Trader Reportedly Will Plead Guilty: The former chief of Salomon Bros. government bond trading desk has agreed to plead guilty to two felony counts to settle criminal charges linked to his role in last year’s Treasury auction scandal, sources said. The settlement involving Paul Mozer will reportedly be announced about Jan. 7. The Wall Street Journal reported that Mozer--who was ousted from Salomon last year and is considered the key figure in the scandal--is likely to get a prison term and a fine. A civil suit filed against Mozer by the Securities and Exchange Commission is still pending.
