U.S. Investigates Alleged Computer Chip Patent Violation: The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun an investigation into an allegation that two South Korean electronics companies are importing a computer memory chip in violation of an American patent. Imports could be barred if the commission finds the charge true. The two firms are Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. and Goldstar Electron Co. The firms’ U.S. sales companies are also named. The complaint came from Micron Semiconductor Inc. of Boise, Ida., on Nov. 13, and the investigation began Dec. 14.
