U.S. Marines in Somalia
Sending the Marines to make the supreme sacrifice of putting their lives at risk to save the lives of the Somalis is a blend of power, prestige and compassion in its noblest manifestation.
Operation Restore Hope is a humanitarian rescue mission with a powerful message that reverberates far beyond the Somali borders. Third World thugs now know that the world community will not henceforth put up with similar barbaric behavior.
In this mission, someone may get hurt. An ambitious general may instigate an ambush. That notwithstanding, Somalia is neither Vietnam or Lebanon. With no external support and nothing to loot, the glue that kept the thugs together will melt like ice under the sun of the Equator.
When it is all over, these fine young men and women will be remembered as the dauntless few who saved the lives of many. May God bless America.
