Milwaukee IHOP to Settle in Patrons’ Discrimination Suit: An International House of Pancakes restaurant and a group of black patrons who asserted that they were refused service have agreed to settle a lawsuit for $185,000. The patrons were locked out of a Milwaukee IHOP several times last Dec. 28, the lawsuit said. The restaurant has promised to ensure that employees are instructed to treat all customers “fairly and equally without regard to race,” IHOP’s attorney said. Part of the settlement, which must be approved by a judge, will be used to fund a college scholarship for minorities.
