Warning Issued on Candy: The Food and Drug Administration warned consumers allergic to peanuts to avoid Waleeco Dainty Filled Candies because they may contain peanut butter. The FDA and the product’s manufacturer, F. B. Washburn Candy Corp. of Brockton, Mass., issued the warning after the agency learned that the candy’s two-pound packages do not list peanut butter as among the ingredients. “Individuals with an allergy to peanuts can suffer serious reactions, including death,” said Chris Lecos, an FDA spokesman. He said the FDA had received no reports of illness connected to the candy.
