Keeping enough fresh players on the court in Edison’s fast-paced attack won’t be a problem for Abraham. “We’ve got great depth and team speed,” he said. “If someone gets tired, we’ll have someone ready to take over.” Two players likely to be on the court most of the time for the Chargers are Paje and Ryan, one of the strongest backcourt duos in the county. Paje averaged 15 points last year and has 95 three-point shots in her Edison career. The Southern Section record is 137, and Abraham believes Paje has a chance to eclipse that mark. “She’s got the green light to shoot it, and she finds a way to get open for the shot,” Abraham said. Joining Paje in the backcourt is Ryan, who averaged nine points and five assists as a junior and stepped up her scoring to 20 points a game this summer. Inside, the Chargers return Oriza, who led the team in rebounding last season. Abraham says she could be the surprise player of the league.
