Polish Railmen Suspend Strike Over Holiday

WARSAW —
Poland’s railway workers suspended a strike over Christmas to enable people to have heat, light and gas over the holiday period, state television said Friday.
More than 130 trainloads of coal left depots in Silesia, the heartland of the country’s coal and heavy industry, and more were expected to follow, the television said.
