Paris Homeless Stage Sit-In at Posh Hotel
Associated Press
PARIS —
About 200 people, including homeless men, women and children, peacefully occupied the lobby of the swanky George V Hotel on chilly Christmas Day to demand housing.
Hotel officials gave chocolates to some of the children and said they understood the demonstrators’ demands. The protest did not seem to bother the hotel’s clientele.
An assistant manager said the demonstrators did not try to enter other areas of the hotel and agreed to leave later Friday afternoon.
