Time to Take Stand on Abortion Question

Our readers wrote letters throughout 1992, expressing their viewpoints on a variety of issues. Here are condensed versions of some of those letters to help us remember the events that mattered to Orange County readers this past year. We would like to thank the readers who took the time to share their views, and we look forward to hearing from them and others in 1992.

I want to thank Kimber Jerrils for nudging me off the fence. I have decided to display a bumper sticker proclaiming my stand as pro-choice, pro-child and pro-family. It’s frightening to think that these men felt a need to intimidate and harass a woman due to her political opinions. . . . I must take a stand. If we back down from stating our opinions due to a fear of intimidation, we stand to lose far more than reproductive rights. Our right to free speech is being threatened by those sworn to protect it.
