Here’s One More Reminder, Folks: Keep Waiting for Mr. or Ms. Right

Share

Thank-you so much for your article on finding someone in the big city (“When Boy Loses Girl,” Dec. 18). I never think to check the ads in the L.A. Weekly, but I wanted to share my little story with you.

A few Valentine’s evenings ago, I went with my family and some friends to a restaurant. Across the room, a young man and I caught each other’s eyes. He came over to the table (a very brave move in front of a group of eight strangers), bearing compliments and smiles.

He was visiting from Chicago, but was fully entranced by me and had to introduce himself. I was absolutely flattered. We stayed in touch that summer via letters and phone calls, but then it faded away.

I couldn’t help remembering him as I read the article and wished that he had lived in L. A., or that the men in L. A. had as much courage. I guess finding that special person is just a hit-and-miss kind of thing. I won’t give up, and neither should the guy in the article.
