Expulsion of 415 Palestinians

Reading The Times every day, I must admit to a great sense of relief when I reach the Commentary page and find Conrad’s pointed and informed slants on the news. On Dec. 23 he scared me by showing Joseph and Mary meeting the recently exiled Palestinians with the caption “There’s no room in the inn . . . or in the country!” I’m not Jewish. I think the right of free speech means that Conrad can and should be able to say this. But I wish he hadn’t.
