Immigration Controversy

In response to “Nuanced Portrait of U.S. Latinos,” editorial, Dec. 17:

It was surprising to see The Times acknowledge a study that does not support the soft position on illegal immigration, which is so often put forward in your paper.

Perhaps we can look forward to your acceptance of the fact that the legal population of the U.S., regardless of its origin, does not support excessive immigration.

The Times has a hard time accepting the truth when it counters any of its well-settled beliefs. You could not resist, for example, pointing out that the study failed to include Central Americans (who are a small part of the problem).
