‘Boomerang’ Comes Back

What’s New on Video: Among the new releases:

“Boomerang” (Paramount, no retail price). When you see Eddie Murphy stumbling as the lead in this mostly unfunny romantic comedy, you’ll long for the good old days in the early ‘80s when he was the smart-alecky action hero. Robin Givens co-stars in this ‘90s Afro-American version of one of those glamorous ‘60s Rock Hudson comedies.

The thriller “Whispers in the Dark,” featuring Annabella Sciorra and Alan Alda, is due March 3.
