Iran-Contra Pardons

Share

During the presidential campaign, I was disturbed by the reasons the public was giving for rejecting a second term of Bush--like, he’s inept, out of touch, disconnected from the people, etc. Wrong. I rejected Bush because I always felt that every time he opened his mouth to speak to the American people, a lie burst forth.

Thank you, almost-ex-President Bush, for validating my intuition. The ex-head of the CIA is hardly inept or out of touch. As one of his final acts as chief executive of this great country, he thumbs his nose at the Constitution and the American people, and pardons his CIA buddies, then dares to compare them to the brave Confederate soldiers pardoned after the Civil War!

I can only say that I’m grateful that, for whatever reason, the people rejected a second term of a President whose stock in trade is lies, hate and divisiveness.
