The New York Giants were given permission to speak to Cowboy defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt by Dallas owner Jerry Jones, and general manager George Young spoke with Wannstedt about the New York job.

“There are some more things to discuss,” Young said. “You want to know what the situation is and how they feel about things.”

He would not say when he plans to talk with Wannstedt again. Young said that the 15-minute session with Wannstedt was not enough time for him to make a decision.

“It is something I’m very interested in,” Wannstedt, 40, said.
