More Cuts Needed: The motion picture ratings board has said that three seconds deleted from the movie “Boxing Helena”--about a woman who is kept in a box after her arms and legs are amputated--will not be enough to warrant an R rating. The board is recommending that the film receive the adults-only NC-17, which producer Carl Mazzocone sees as commercially limiting. Mazzocone said he was told that three more specific edits must be made, but he has not decided what to do. Meanwhile, “Helena” will be shown, as is, at the upcoming Sundance Festival in Utah and be released overseas in the NC-17 form.
