THOUSAND OAKS : Savings and Loan Robber Nets $3,000
A robber who held up a Thousand Oaks savings and loan branch escaped with an estimated $3,000, authorities said.
The robbery, the fourth in Ventura County this year, occurred Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. when a man about 45 years old entered the Home Savings & Loan branch on Hampshire Road and demanded money from a teller, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Parks.
The man did not use a weapon or simulate one during the holdup, witnesses said. He fled after he was handed about $3,000, Parks said.
The Thousand Oaks Crime Stoppers program will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the robber’s arrest and a criminal complaint. Call Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK or 656-1500.
