Los Angeles Redevelopment

Credit must be given to Avila for his honesty in admitting how the agency can continue its redevelopment goals.

Avila says the only way to use redevelopment to address community concerns in areas damaged by the riots is for the community to ignore those critical of the agency.

This brave admission shows that the community must ignore those who understand the nature and goals of the CRA and how it works, because the evidence against the agency is so overwhelming.

The CRA does not want the public to hear what it means to own a business or property under the California redevelopment law administered by the unelected seven-member CRA board.

They don’t want the community to know that the CRA pays Sacramento lobbyists to legislate them more power and diminish citizens’ rights and protections.

They don’t want the public to know about the diversion of billions of tax dollars away from local government services and the human costs of redevelopment administered by the CRA, the dislocation of tens of thousands of people and businesses.
