UPS Orders Up to 60 Boeing Freighters: Boeing Co. announced its largest-ever order for cargo jets as United Parcel Service agreed to buy up to 60 Boeing 767 freighters worth more than $5 billion. The order by Atlanta-based UPS launches the all-cargo version of the 767-300, a wide-body jet used extensively on transcontinental and international passenger routes. UPS placed firm orders for 30 of the planes and took options on another 30. Neither it nor Boeing would say how much the deal was worth, but Johnson noted the planes will be similar in value to passenger 767-300s, which sell for $85 million to $90 million each.
