Titans Picked to Shine on Big West Diamonds
Cal State Fullerton’s baseball and softball teams each have been picked to finish first in the Big West by conference coaches.
The baseball team, which was runner-up to Pepperdine in the College World Series last season, received six of the eight first-place votes and had 62 points to 58 for Cal State Long Beach. The Titans return six starters and 14 lettermen, and are ranked eighth in the preseason Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball polls.
The Titan softball team, which returns six starters and 13 letter winners from last year’s team, received seven of the nine first-place votes and totaled 79 points in the poll. Second-place Utah State had 64 and third-place Cal State Long Beach had 63.
