U.S. Bombing of Iraq Military Sites
Although I may be in a minority, I cannot help but protest the air attack on Iraq. Two years ago, an all-out war, sanctions, U.N. inspections and the destruction of Iraq’s weapons failed to bring about needed changes in Iraq. What makes us think that further armed strikes will do the job?
These kinds of actions by Western powers only strengthen the militant fundamentalists in the Arab world, lead to more extremist leaders, and kill whatever democratic forces there are in that part of the world.
The “new world order” does need a police force, not an army, under a strengthened United Nations coupled with a U.N. peace corps.
