Small Bomb Detonated in Front of Home
A pipe bomb tossed from a passing car caused minor damage but hurt no one when it exploded in the front yard of a Newhall home, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.
Deputy Ron Weber said the bomb was thrown at a house in the 2400 block of Spruce Street at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday. Just before the bomb exploded, Weber said, several of the house’s windows were shot out with a pellet gun.
The residents, who asked not to be identified, were in the rear of the house at the time of the attack and were not injured, Weber said.
