Atlantic Richfield Co.’s fourth-quarter profit rose 39% to $372 million, or $2.30 a share, including $75 million from settling a dispute with Iran over nationalization of offshore fields following the 1979 revolution.
In 1991’s fourth quarter, the Los Angeles company earned $268 million, or $1.67 per share. Revenue rose to $5.01 billion from $4.84 billion.
The company had a total of $140 million in special gains in the fourth quarter.
