Oxnard police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of “tagging” numerous locations in the south end of the city, causing more than $10,000 in damage.

The youth, who police said was also arrested in October on suspicion of painting the initials “CR” on businesses on Oxnard Boulevard and A Street, is suspected of defacing numerous locations between Friday and Sunday, police said.

The youth painted the name “Sener” on telephone poles, sidewalks, curbs, fences, trees and several other locations during the graffiti spree, police said in the release.

Also defaced in the attacks was property owned by the city of Oxnard and Southern California Edison. The city and Edison reported more than $5,000 in damage each because of the tagging.

The youth, who was identified by members of the Oxnard Police Department’s Gang Offender Unit, was booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of felony vandalism.
