Cornerback Gill Byrd won’t be playing in next month’s Pro Bowl and admits that his future with the team is uncertain.

Byrd pulled out of the Pro Bowl after tests revealed torn cartilage in his right knee. He underwent arthroscopic surgery and will be replaced on the American Football Conference squad by Nate Odomes of the Buffalo Bills.

Byrd’s contract expires on Feb. 1, and the Chargers reportedly can’t protect him because he’s a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the NFL.
