TV Fest to Honor Mary Tyler Moore

Evenings devoted to “St. Elsewhere,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” the Smothers Brothers, Mary Tyler Moore and the original version of “The Untouchables” will highlight the 10th annual Los Angeles festival of the Museum of Television & Radio, it was announced Wednesday.

Other sessions will be devoted to “Mission: Impossible,” “Tales From the Crypt,” “Kojak,” “The Flip Wilson Show,” “Roc,” George Carlin, “Picket Fences,” “Homefront” and producer Roy Huggins. There will also be screenings of Frank Sinatra and Cher broadcasts and newly discovered episodes of “The Honeymooners.”

The festival by the New York-based museum will run from March 3-20 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Principals from all the series and personal salutes, except the screenings, will take part.

Moore’s appearance will be solo and will deal with her career. Huggins’ series include “Maverick,” “The Fugitive,” “The Rockford Files” and “The Virginian.” James Garner, star of “Maverick” and “The Rockford Files,” will take part in the Huggins salute.
