U.S. Assistance in Somalia

Share

I can’t believe all the criticism that President Bush has received for his efforts in Somalia. How can anyone in his or her right mind find fault in what our President and our country are doing?

Night after night, TV pictures of starving women, children and old people were flashed across America and other countries around the world. Everyone talked about what to do, yet no one was able or willing to take the necessary steps to halt this horrible situation. I would have thought that we as Americans would take great pride in what our country is doing. As a black man, I have only gratitude and praise, yet as an American I feel a great sense of pride that my country not only has the means but also the will. The smiles on the faces of the people of Somalia say it all.

I thank Bush for saving “my people” and I would encourage every black person in America to send this President a letter expressing our appreciation and gratitude.
