A hhhhhhh, just imagine it: a luxurious weekend retreat, complete with pedicure and limousine service.

All for your pet.

At the Manhattan Village Shopping Center on Saturday, dogs and cats will compete for this and other prizes in the third annual Pet Show, a benefit for the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The categories: Best Dressed, Longest & Shortest Tail, Best Behavior, Most Charming and Stupid Pet Tricks. Prizes will range from free pet grooming to a VIP (Very Important Pet) weekend stay at a tony Torrance kennel, including limousine service, pedicure and bath.

In the stupid tricks competition--debuting as a pet show category--Fido and Tabby won’t have all day to work their magic. Says Margo Heltzel, marketing director at Manhattan Village: “We will be enforcing a three-minute rule when a pet can’t get its act together.”

What: Pet Show

When: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday.

Where: Center Court at Manhattan Village Shopping Center, Sepulveda Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, Manhattan Beach.

Registration: $10 for first category, $4 for each additional category.
