An estimated 133.4 million watched the Super Bowl on Sunday, making it the most-watched show in TV history. The game received a final A.C. Nielsen rating of 45.1, the highest since CBS had a 45.8 for the New York Giants and Denver in 1987.
Each rating point represents 1% of the 93.1 million television homes in the United States, meaning that about 42 million American homes had their TVs tuned to the Super Bowl, another record.
